The Power of the Mind

When it comes to the brain there are many tips and tricks out there to stimulate your mind and strengthen your memory. But is it really possible to improve your brain? From electric jolts to brain exercises to supplements and everything in between, everyone has something they believe. The scientific community is still far from convinced that any of these things can actually improve your brain.

Matthieu Ricard, a Buddhist monk who has worked in the sciences, primarily with the brain, has worked with neuroscientists to study the brain and the power of mediation. If  the practice of mediation can have a profound impact on our minds, why wouldn’t the exercises and healthy eating also have an impact on our brains?

What are your thoughts? Can we exercise the brain to make it stronger like we exercise the body? What is the scientific community missing? Is it possible that there are just some things science is unable to explain?
